I’ve finally got round to losing the Kubrick theme and updating the WordPress backend to the latest version!

We now have … (drum roll please)

codeblog-v2

I’ve created a new theme and added a few new bits, some to mention are:

reCAPTCHA (to try and stop the SPAM and allow people to comment without signing up)
Ratings system (tacky but handy for me as an want to be author)
Windows Live Messenger Bolt-on
Last FM Bolt-on

Other backend tie-ups

The database upgrade seems to of messed up some of the special characters in the posts (I was upgrading from a pre-historic version of WordPress that was probably written before multibyte UTF8 arrived).

Currently working on getting the old content re-categorised, tagged & cleaned up. Also running out some bugs found.

I have been on a bit of a WordPress learning curve & hack-fest. As I’m used to to working with more developer oriented documentation I found myself finding it hard to understand the simplicity of the WP functions and features.
